Just before releasing their new CD, we are proud to take duties of the
wholesaler of their 2009 album. After touring Japan, Brazil and Europe,
this international political crust punk trio based in London gained
some attention. In case you don't know them, here's a part of the
statement taken from their website:
"We all live in London, but we are not an
English band anyways. And maybe our name, MEINHOF gives some
suggestion, that we come from Germany… We are just the international
threat. There are some doubts about or name, that comes from a German
activist, Urlike Meinhof… We do not support Rote Armee Fraktion, as we
do not support killing people in the name of any political or religious
slogans… Our name, MEINHOF is just the name of band… We believe our
music and message is pretty aggressive, then MEINHOF as the name fits
well to our style… but again it doesn’t mean, that we are Urlike
Meinhof’s fans. Our music has evolved from
digital hardcore to punk sounds, and we do not call it by development.
We are just coming back to our roots… In the late 90’s, anarcho punk
scene seemed to be in decline worldwide and all the revolutionary
flames seemed to be burn out… We were looking for something fresh, that
could pump a bit of blood into the veins of the dead body. We went into
underground electronic, but then we have realised, that people who take
part in that scene are not the same revolutionary as their
revolutionary, noisy and angry music. Those people say a lot about
revolution and blah, blah, blah… Miserable! Anarcho punk scene
constantly grows stronger and then declines… and the story repeats.
Though punk is always a kind of real threat to the system, and this
makes us loyal to punk, not underground electronic."

Eastern part of Poland gave birth
to quite a few great acts during last few years. This part, often
described as "Poland B" (in contrast to more wealthy parts of the
country), seems to have an ideal climate for more angry, passionate
acts. A coincidence?
This band's debut LP was published by Sadness Of Noise, now we finally
puit out the CD version. Being compared to Madame Germne, Ekkaia and
French screamo stuff may give ou a hint, but check yourself that they
shall need no comparisions - MRR stuff got excited already: "This Polish band incorporates
TRAGEDY / HIS HERO IS GONE-style low-end
plunging and modern new-school hardcore elements--stop 'n' start from
slow pace into full-throttle speed to quiet interludes. It's all
delivered with precision and is somewhat similar to BURST with darker,
crusty-tinged overtones from the distortion-laden tooth of the
recording. Hoarsely spewed vocals with bleak lyrics in English
underline the dark overtones of guitar work that drives the songs,

On Saturday, Sept. 4, five political activists were arrested in
Belgrade on trumped up charges. The five, Tadej Kurepa, Ivan Vuloviæ,
Sanja Dojkiæ, Ratibor Trivunac and Nikola Mitrovic, are activists in or
associates of the Anarcho-Syndicalist Initiative, the Serbian section
of the International Workers’ Association (IWA). (* The sixth person
sought by police, Ivan Savic, was also arrested some days later.)
UPDATE: ON DECEMBER 7, THE COURT DECIDED TO HOLD THE 6 IN CUSTODY UNTIL
THEIR TRIAL. THIS IS EXPECTED TO TAKE PLACE IN SPRING AT THE EARLIEST.
The arrests are allegedly related to a direct action which took place
at the Greek Embassy on Aug. 25. Negligible damage was done; a crack in
one window, a tiny burn mark on the facade and a circled A graffiti on
the embassy as a act of symbolic solidarity with Thodoros Iliopoulos.
The prosecutor however imagines this as an act of “international
terrorism” and would like to charge our comrades with such. If the
state allows such charges to be pressed, they could be facing 3-15
years in prison.

As of today, no charges have been pressed yet against the comrades. Yet
they have been incarcerated for over a month and may be kept as long as
six months without charges. In the meanwhile, they are not allowed
contact with the outside world.
In the first week of October, the prosecutor asked the judge for
permission to keep the Belgrade six locked up for 2 more months during
the investigative phase. The judge agreed to one more month. It is not
clear whether this may be extended. Charges must be pressed within 7
days of closing the investigation but it is not clear when this should
happen.
Members of ASI have clearly and publically declared that they knew
nothing of the action, which was claimed by a group nobody has heard
of, Crni Ilja.
It is quite clear that the main reason the activists from ASI have been
arrested in political. In addition, we may see that the government is
quite hypocritical and selective about who they repress; as members of
ASI pointed out, when a much more serious incident occurred at the
American Embassy a year earlier, the government did not bother to start
a campaign of repression.
Since the arrest of the comrades, protests have taken place in many
parts of the world. Thousands of people have sent letters of protest to
the Serbian government. Everybody is united in demanding their release.

KRYZYS or P.C.S.D., but takes things in a tad more trippy direction

cool! Seriously! You either love the wild left-field experimentation of
the Polish Punk scene ...or are just baffled by it. There's neat poetic

moments but less of a hardcore or brutal edge and more cacophony to the

concise impact. However, it's a fun place to wander around in for

fünf Polen musikalisch umsetzen, wird auch vom Artwork aufgegriffen und
so liegt dem Digipak ein schön gestaltetes Booklet mit tollen
Illustrationen bei. CHIODOS und FEAR BEFORE THE MARCH OF FLAMES wären
die transatlantischen Counterparts zu ODSZUKAC LISTOPAD, aber der
Fünfer weiß auch ohne große Zitate zu gefallen und schlägt in „Sand
garden" auch mal akustische Töne an und beginnt dann ein schwungvolles
„February 06", welches vor allem die Stärke der Vocals zeigt, an denen
sich beinahe alle Musiker beteiligen. Elf Songs, die weniger wirr sind
als amerikanische Scream-Tracks und bei Weitem weniger gekünstelt

from one of the most interesting and more active polish bands of the
last few years. The LP was released in the summer of 2009, now the time

Since 2005 THE FIGHT have consistently followed their own path,
combining uncompromising socio-political message with raging punk
sound, not being afraid of more melodic parts at the same time. After
several european tours, numerous shows in poland, a demo CD and a 7"
release, the band presents their first full-length.
"MALDICION" includes 12 fast, perfectly sounding songs with passionate
female vocals. During the four years of its existence The Fight evolved
from melodic hardcore/punk towards fierce harcore, sometimes even
crusty, sound.

How is it again, The best Hardcore
Punk records are made under the most conservative and critical
governments? According to that "wisdom" it seems that the political
situation in poland is just shortly before escalating. Cause thats
where the THE FIGHT are from. Right with the one-minute-opener "Call it
D.I.Y." they punch us with best Hardcore/Punk with a crust edge that
contains a unmistakeable social-political message. For THE FIGHT Punk
is not just a four-letter word and thus on "Maldicion" (spanish: curse)
they offer twelve pissed of HC-Bombs. Next to kickin' ass politically,
they also, like in the first song, lynch other Liers and two faced
guys: "You call it D.I.Y. and i call it shit, another empty word,
nothing stands behind it. Competition! Punk rock stars! Mainstream
tactics! Gossip and Lies!" Very unique are the high and screamed
(keifen in german means something more extreme than screaming but i
didnt find a translation, wolfi) vocals of singer asia. Her
remarkable
screaming shapes the sound of THE FIGHT and makes it stick in your ears
for a long time after. Even though THE FIGHT were fount in 2005
already, "Maldicion" is their first Full-Length-Album after some 7"s,
EPs, Samplers and Demos. As to expect with 22 minutes running time it
doesnt offer much music but none the less an intense, honest and very,

Severed Head of State return with nine punishing new tracks. Hard
driving riffs and angry vocals give this release a real fist pumping
intensity. A lot of the songs are more mid tempo in the tradition of
mid period Poison Idea and other hardcore punk bands that took some
cues from Motorhead. Severed Head of State have been going for ten
years now, but are a band with no geographic center and with all
members playing in other bands. Guitarist Todd Burdette (Tragdy, His
Hero Is Gone, Warcry) delivers some really searing guitar riffs on this
LP and the guitar tone is perfect for the style, biting and corrosive
like battery acid. Jack Control (World Burns to Death) has always
impressed me with his raw and angry vocals and well thought out lyrics.
A lot of bands write about the horror of war and man's inhumanity to
man just because it's what fits the music. When I read Jack's lyrics I
see that he's looking beyond the black and white pictures of war
victims in the history books. The atrocities are not the result of one
criminal act, but of the recurring process of unrestrained power and
authority run amok. The bleak lryics and their focus on oppression and
atrocity are a searing reminder that there is much to be done and
things will probably get worse before they get any better. I've always
though bassist Kelly Halliburton (Masskontroll, Defiance,
Clusterbombunit, Resist) had some of the best style in hardcore
dropping in some of his crucial Discharoge style "walking" bass fills.
Drummer Chris Pfeffer (Signal Lost, Storm the Tower, Scorched Earth
Policy) holds it all together with some sick and precise beats.
The CD version of this release also contains the Charge Ahead and
Fucking Butchery 7"s as bonus tracks.

Submission Hold. UJD did several US tours, and play a lot in Europe. If
you've ever been to Prague, read Hasek or Hrabal, you're gonna
recognize that unique feel. If you don't know any of these - listen to
tracks on the site. I was into this band for years and it's a honour to

incredible art delivered by their "non playing member".

vinyl LP brings 2 early demos from this unforgettable band. Recorded in
1988 and 1990, they contain some songs that you got to know from their
regular studio albums (all available on NNNW now), and quite a few that
you have probably never heard. Old demo was recorded with a male

stage. Sometimes called "Polish Berurier Noir", but their music is more
anarcho punk in Conflict / Wlochaty vein.

this is their first album ever. Hard to describe mixture of 80s hard
core and good solid Polish punk.

makes it more brutal – Croatian review says “dark hardcore”, but “dark”
doesn’t
mean “black” (metal) in this case.
The album called “Maras” is released in October
2006. This time it includes... a computer game as a bonus. Some tracks

remixes and cover versions prepared by friends. And a gatefold CD cover
is
another crazy art by the comics designer – Michal Arkusinski.
The end of 2006 brings a short
tour in Austria and
Slovenia with Klinika.
Another long running Polish band with plenty of releases

later that had to happen. Political, raging and melodic punk - imagine

DEFORMED formed as a teenage punk comboin Manchester in 1978 -
and existed until 1987 - made demos, singles, appeared on CRASS Records
"Bullshit Detector 2" compilation LP.
Punk they played has taken a direction Mob or Zounds took. Several
years after splitting up they were back as CRESS.
Double CD contains all their material that was saved.

This Czech band has just released their 6th album. Formed on the ashes
of strictly punk FPB, they went towards the areas explored by bands
like the Ex, Dog Faced Hermans, Guts Pie Earshot, and lately -
Submission Hold. UJD did several US tours, and play a lot in Europe. If
you've ever been to Prague, read Hasek or Hrabal, you're gonna
recognize that unique feel. If you don't know any of these - listen to
tracks on the site. I was into this band for years and it's a honour to
release their album on vinyl. As always - it's accompanied by
incredible art delivered by their "non playing member".
